Interface Foundry: FAQ

Q. Is the graphical content usable on a royalty-free basis?
A. Yes, but... you can't distribute any part of the original PSD files of interfaces and buttons. In other words, you cannot share them in their unchanged form, but once you have customized them and made them "your own", there are no restrictions on their use.

Q. What's the easiest way to implement one of your interfaces or buttons?
A. The fastest and simplest way is probably to save your interface as a single image, and then make the buttons interactive by creating an image map where clickable regions are defined. Applications like ImageReady (part of Photoshop 5+), as well as many freeware applications, provide easy ways to make image maps. For more flexible, advanced designs (that go far beyond the capabilities of image maps), consider building your interface with HTML/Javascript or Macromedia Flash.

Q. How do I implement an interface or button in HTML/Javascript?
A. Understanding HTML tables is the key to this method if you've got multiple buttons to implement. Using the slicing tool in ImageReady, you can easily divide your interface up into rectangular pieces that will fit together to form the entire interface on your web page. The rectangular image pieces that consist of individual buttons can change when the mouse is rolled on or off the button, or for other special effects, which can be implemented in Javascript.

Q. How do I implement an interface or button in Macromedia Flash?
A. There is no single way to make interfaces in Flash. One approach is to import an image of the entire interface into Flash, and then define "invisible" buttons above the parts of the interface that should be clickable. Another approach is to separate the interface into static parts, and those that are interactive. That way, various pieces can be programmed to move independently of each other. PNG files are ideal for importing graphics into Flash that have semi-transparent areas.

Q. Do I have to fill out an account to make a purchase? What is the account information used for?
A. Making an account with us only makes it easier on you if you ever wish to make another purchase at Eyeland Studio. If you make an account with us, you will not need to fill that information out again. You do not need to make an account in order to make a purchase. The information you enter in when you make a purchase at Eyeland Studio is used solely to process your order. We do not even use your e-mail information for our newsletter.

Q. I received two e-mail confirmations when I made a purchase on your site. Was my credit card charged twice?
A. No. If you receive two e-mail confirmations, notice the order number is the same. You're credit card will only be charged once per order number.

Q. I don't have a credit card or I'm uncomfortable with using my credit card online. Can I order by mail?
A. Yes, please send a Cashier's Check or Money Order (made out to Eyeland Studio) to P. O. Box 2361, Round Rock, Texas 78680-2361. We normally check the P. O. Box weekly so, please e-mail us (see below) if you order by mail so that we can expidite your order.
