Rollover Effect Coder Pro 1.0
©2001 Eyeland Studio, All Rights Reserved.
Requires Internet Explorer 5.5.

1. Select an Effect Type
Basic
Animated
Description:

4. Test the Rollover Effect
It's time to try out your settings! Click the button below to try out your rollover effect.

5. Copy-and-Paste
If you're happy with your rollover effect, it's now time to copy-and-paste code into your HTML file(s) to finish the process.

This function code should be placed in your page's <head> section, but only needs to be in there once for all the effects generated by the Rollover Effects Coder:

This image code should be placed in the <body> section, at the point where you want the button to appear:

This preload code should be placed at the end of your page, before the </body> tag:

What Does This Thing Do?

This useful tool helps in creating Javascript code to handle rollover effects, allowing you to make buttons that "light up" or "come alive" when you interact with them using the mouse. Simply follow the steps on the left and you'll be on your way. Read this yellow box for example effects, and help with various aspects of the coder.

Even though this coder only works on Internet Explorer 5.5 (and above), the output should work on other browsers such as Netscape. The exception is that dynamic effects will be ignored on anything but IE5.5 and above.

Still having trouble? If so, feel free to post a question in our forum and you will be helped!

Rollover Effect Examples:

These examples show off the types of effects that the coder can handle. When you click on an example below, it will automatically adjust all the options fields as appropriate, and then pop-up a window showing the result. Feel free to experiment with the settings after loading an example.

Infinite Fish Button:
These examples use one image in conjunction with IE-specific filters to accomplish their effects. No image preloading is necessary with these, making them very efficient.
Fade Pulse (animated)
Jump Off Page (basic)
Bouncing Shadow (animated)

Eyeland Studio Metal Logo:
In this example, 10 images are used to animate a metal logo being "built". Notice how the animation starts to "build" on rollover and "unbuilds" back to nothing on rollout. It will only "unanimate" as much as was "animated" while the cursor was over the button.
